"a European solution to the euro crisis involves a delicate two-phase maneuver, similar to the one that got us out of the crash of 2008.

When a car is skidding, ... can you correct your direction. Only after you have regained control..

In the eurozone’s case, governments must first impose strict fiscal discipline on deficit countries and encourage structural reforms.

Then stimulus is needed, because structural reforms alone will not suffice to escape the vicious deflationary circle."

Old George is getting seriously SENILE.

1/ The main problems with the EURO and Germany originated from neither France nor Germany respecting the regulations for deficits themselves.

This led others to believe they could get away with whatever they wanted. (Including Greece and Estonia cooking the books to enter the Eurozone)

2/"Only after you have regained control.."
No-one is in control least of all Merkel or Sarko or that anti-democratic dickhead Barroso.

3/ Finally the phrase "similar to the one that got us out of the crash of 2008".

I dunno which planet Soros lives on but we are NOT out of the 2008 crisis at all.

All the bank fuck-ups have effectively been socialised and handed out to the tax payers now, on the basis of one F..kcg great IOU which most countries in the developed world are totally incapable of repaying! Reply to the comment answer
