Estonian logistics cluster project secures funding

Enterprise Estonia that distributes EU structural funds in Estonia has decided to provide 12.8 million kroons of support for development of an Estonian logistics cluster. The cost of the project is 18.4 million kroons, and is funded by the European Fund for Regional Development.

The cluster involves 18 partners, including Tallinn Airport, Port of Tallinn, Port of Sillamäe, Paldiski Ports, Estonian Ports Association, Estonian Railway, DBT, E.R.S., Spacecom, Contimer, Vopak E.O.S., Alexela Logistics, Esteve Terminal, Bominflot Estonia, Smarten Logistics, Tallinn University of Technology, Erahariduskeskus and State Resources Centre.

The project is titled Development of Estonian Logistics Cluster and it is being managed by Logistika ja Transiidi Assotsiatsioon, a non-profit organization, and aims to market the potential of the Estonian logistics sector on various target markets and to increase export turnover, develop products and services with high export potential, create a central information channel, draw up visual identity and develop content and communications.

As a result of the duster's activity, the export turnover of the members should increase by at least 30% in five years.
