"Successful Britain" to come to Tallinn

The British Embassy in Tallinn will be holding a celebration of British innovation, culture and achievement. 'Successful Britain' will take place in the Viru Keskus on Saturday 19th March between 1200 and 1700. 

'Successful Britain' will celebrate British achievement in business, the creative arts and society. Colourful and entertaining themed areas will highlight the contributions Britain makes to the world. Visitors can discover the detail behind the 2012 London Olympics; experience green innovation in British science and technology; learn about educational opportunities to study in Britain; catch up on British fashion and design.

A variety of British companies will show off their products and services and highlight the role British business plays in Estonia. The event will showcase the 'Best of British', and Britain's active and visible place in Estonian life.

A programme of events throughout the day will feature a live band and professional DJ sets, capturing the best of British music. Large screens will display highlights from British comedy and drama . Visitors will be able to endulge in the rich heritage of British food and drink while enjoying the entertainment. 

"This is an exciting opportunity to rediscover Britain in 2011," commented the British Ambassador, Peter Carter.  "We want people to see the best we have to offer, from fashion and design to energy efficiency, from tourism to education and from our beers and ciders to the traditions of English afternoon tea.  I'm looking forward to welcoming everyone."

In addition to the Viru Keskus event, 'Successful Britain' will include other events in and around Tallinn, including a British food month at the Swissotel Tallinn and a British Estonian Chamber of Commerce Investment Conference.
