Report: Estonia has to find 130,000 new workers in five years

According to a labour need forecast prepared by the ministry of economic affairs and communications, Estonia is going to need 130,000 additional workers by 2018, writes Eesti Päevaleht daily.

The single biggest factor that is influencing the labour need will be the replacement of current workforce because in five years, between 110,000 and 120,000 people will be leaving the labour market in Estonia.

Although the number of employed persons is expected to increase by 20,000 people, the related need is significantly smaller than that of replacement need.

The sectors that are likely to be suffering most from shortage of workers include industry, retail, construction, education, transport and logistics.
