The government has allocated 2,848 euros from its reserve fund for compensation to be paid to businessman Vladimir Getsu who had been suspected of large-scale tax evasion.

The tax authority suspected that Getsu had avoided payment of millions of kroons in VAT and income tax, but the court found Getsu not guilty.

Getsu filed a compensation claim against the state saying that he had suffered damages because during the investigation he had been prohibited to leave the country and his bank accounts had been frozen.

Criminal investigation into his alleged tax evasion started in 2002 and ended in 2010.
